Audit

Develop an understanding of site goals, audience and 
business needs

  • Inventory content
  • Analytics review (if available)

Map

Determine architecture, 
navigation structure, templates, components

  • Sitemap and navigation structure for new site
  • Map current content to new templates & components

Author

Build the elements and components of the visual design and create pages

  • Author pages & components
  • Test site

Maintain

Update and add pages through the authoring interface

  • Ongoing updating and publishing
Workshop Settings

Single Department

  • Single small to medium department with dozens of faculty
  • Two day workshop, with first day focused on audit and mapping and second day on authoring
  • Conference room or Zoom setting, with conference room reserved for full workshop

Multi-Unit

  • Group of up to four small units such as committees, labs, or administrative offices
  • Units should be similar; for example, all labs or all administrative units
  • Two day workshop split into two 
  halves, mapping and authoring
  • Classroom or Zoom setting, with room reserved for full workshop

Larger or Complex Unit

  • Large department (e.g., Medicine), institute, or complex administrative unit
  • One department at a time
  • Three-to-five day workshop split into two halves, mapping and authoring
  • Conference room or Zoom setting, with room reserved for full workshop
